Let’s face it, sports and fashion go hand in hand. Uniforms, intrinsically designed to signify a team’s nation or city (and mascot), have recently migrated from the dugout to the runways. During the men’s collections in Europe, this was most prominent at the Louis Vuitton show where silk baseball jackets were emblazoned with the house’s script signature and enhanced with prints. And the first one to sport this home-run style was none other than former member of One Direction, Zayn Malik. It was a little shocking, then, to see Malik’s former bandmate, Harry Styles, sport the new look of the baseball jacket while appearing on Good Morning America.
Unlike Malik’s version, Styles’s Saint Laurent jacket went in, shall we say, another direction, featuring a traditional contrast sleeve with ribbed cuff and hem trim, but in a more fitted silhouette. Paired with Styles’s signature uniform of distressed tee, black Paige skinny jeans, and Saint Laurent lizard skin boots, the “Drag Me Down” crooner looked every part the modern-day rock star.
